On October 22 and December 10, Rick Bero and Dave Hanson of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. gave a Westlaw webinar on “Recent Patent Royalty Damages Decisions – Update & Discussion.”
On December 4, Ron Bero and Don Daugherty of Godfrey & Kahn gave a presentation to the Wisconsin State Bar on “Trending Topics in Business Litigation – Proof of Lost Profits Damages in Litigation.” Ron and Don spoke about foundational rules, client supplied information, causation considerations, new business formation and lost profits.
In the fall, Ron Bero attended the FBI Citizen Academy in Milwaukee, which he was invited to attend as a result of his helping the FBI with a fraud investigation. While attending the academy, Ron learned about problems involving evidence collection and preservation, FBI jurisdiction and congressional oversight, among other topics.
On October 20, Rick Bero gave a presentation to the Milwaukee Bar Association on “VirnetX and Ericsson – The Latest on Apportionment and Comparable Licenses.”
